Star Wars

Or, War in Heaven.

"And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him." Revelation 12:7-9

One way the devil leads the whole world astray is to give them a false idea about the universe. Let people believe that there is nothing out there but matter—matter they can see, that has always been there, and which ordered and designed itself. Once they believe that, they may believe in all sorts of other things they can't see or prove—like antimatter, and Oort clouds, and parallel universes.

He's even happy for them to believe in alien life—that's what the SETI program is all about. They can spend their lives chasing UFOs—just as long as that alien life does not include God or angels or a real devil.

Well, okay, they can believe in angels and God—as long as those beings are benign, just there to offer humans comfort or a little help. Not like those described in the Bible in whose presence humans are terrified.

Naturalism, fairy tales, science fiction, religion—all these deceptions keep the world ignorant of the God of the Bible:

  • the holy, changeless, omnipotent being—
  • creator of all that exists—
  • who loves us with burning passion—
  • who came as a man, hated, spit upon, crucified—
  • and judge of the living and the dead.

This is what the universe is really all about, and there will be real war in heaven before the consummation of all things.
