Is there a lesson in an eclipse?
Definition: The complete or partial obscuring, relative to a designated observer, of one celestial body by another.
Generalized definition: A permanent or temporary dimming or cutting off of light.
Ideas, activities, and interests can obscure what is really important. Too late we may find we've spent our time having nothing of lasting value to show for it.
The Scriptures show us the way to live. "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path," Psalm 119:105. We must guard against that light being eclipsed by other things—good as they may seem.
