Russia's Meteor

We know from the Bible that difficult times for the nation of Israel are coming. You could know that without even reading the scriptures. That period of time is called The Day of the LORD (Jeremiah 46:10), and the Time of Jacob's Troubles (Jeremiah 30:7). It is described as a time in which Israel will suffer greatly, but her enemy nations destroyed.

Why do I accompany this with a photo of yesterday's meteorite over Russia? Because Jesus, in speaking of the time of Jacob's trouble, said that immediately after that time of tribulation "the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken." (Matthew 24:29)

The meteor was frightening to those who saw, heard, and felt it—as it would be to any of us. It is a reminder that even more momentous events approach. Jesus himself will return at that time. "All the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." (verse 30)

His coming will  be like lightning flashing from the east to the west—quick, powerful, and unmistakeable. (verse 27) Are you prepared?
