THE STING
Today is Good Friday; the "sting" of the title is the sting Messiah suffered on our behalf.
In the constellation Scorpius, the star that marks the stinger is called Shaula, meaning the sting. The Arab astronomer Al Biruni said it came from Mushalah, meaning raised, positioned to strike.
"The sting of death is sin," the Apostle Paul tells us. Messiah took the sting of death for us when He bore our sins into the judgment of death. If our faith is in Him, death will have no sting for us. When our mortal puts on immortality, death will be swallowed up in victory. (1 Corinthians 15:51-57)
And that victory is Easter! May yours be filled with the joy of the Resurrected One!
