Before Sun-Up

The other morning I watched the sky turn pink. Most of the stars had disappeared; only the brightest were still visible. Mars lay directly south, Orion towards the southwest, while Venus rose in the southeast.

This scene suggested to me that a lot of people claim to have “light” these days. Their so-called knowledge denies the Creator, and dismisses the Bible.

Many believers have grown silent in the face of this “knowledge.” They do not know how to defend their faith, and they are cowed by the vociferous deniers. Like the stars, they fade out, leaving few to speak boldly for God.

False christs do attract followers, but let’s not fear to be faithful to God’s Christ—the Lord Jesus. Remember, that first morning light will be overwhelmed by the magnificence of the rising sun, and “to you who fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings,” Malachi 4:2.

Jesus’ return will be unmistakable. He said, “As the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be,” Matthew 24:27.

His lightnings light the world;
The earth sees and trembles.
The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD,
At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
The heavens declare His righteousness,
And all the peoples see His glory. Psalm 97:4-6
