Just as I laid my eclipse viewing glasses on the table Saturday, in preparation for the eclipse Sunday, I glanced through the skylight overhead and saw that the sky had clouded over. This was after almost two weeks of sunshine. Sunday continued cloudy. I hope somewhere in the US people got a good view!
Still looking forward to the transit of Venus Tuesday, June 5. My eclipse viewing shades are still ready!

We were able to see what was happening through a welding mask. It works like a camera, but shades everything. We could see the sun as a bright circle, and the chunk the moon slowly took out of it, but it was not as dramatic as it would have been without the cloud cover. I was expecting that it would be dark outside during the eclipse, but without advance notice and viewing it through the welding mask, I wouldn't have known anything was happening.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you knew to watch for it and were able to see it. Thanks for the description.
